Have you ever wondered how fantasy book covers created with stock images are put together?
I have a long creative history that started with a camera. I spent most of my childhood snapping photos of anything and everything. However, after I hit a period of burnout as a professional photographer, I switched gears and became an author instead.
Since then, I’ve continued to expand my creative pursuits and am now a cover designer as well as an author. Currently, I use stock images and Photoshop to craft fantasy covers, but I am learning digital art so I can create truly original cover art.
You won’t see much of that side of my artistic abilities until next year when I’ll be starting series two in the Comstock Chronicles world, but you will see some of it during the launches of my next two books.
To date, I’ve created four book covers, starting with The Fire Drake, Caught in the Flames, The Siren’s Call, and The Phoenix and the Wolf (Cover release in May).
I hope you enjoy learning a bit more about my creative process.
